There's a character fusion chart with Marina from Mischief Makers, Rouge from Power Stone and one of the beta designs for Aero from Megaman Legends 3. When I started drawing a scenario for the three characters I hit upon just throwing them into combat - two of them show up in 3D fighting games (Marina as a guest in Rakugaki Showtime) and MML3 was planned to be a 3D action-adventure title. Then Aero got swapped out for 'Harry' from another 3D fighting game, Poy Poy (on the PS1).
The characters all had more blocky proportions and faces but those got swapped out for a generally more anime look, save for Harry. I also experimented with Marina's legs being half conical and obviously metal, and half bodybuilder physique.

I don't draw Disney or Looney Tune stuff as often as I probably should, so I tried drawing the ducks according to their model sheets, also borrowing a lot from the recent LTC series for Daffy
I drew some shapes to start a composition or scenario with which to draw, and that evolved into 'girl with a gun' positions, and when one of the drawings resembled Velma from Scooby Doo I went with it
It's like that new weird TV show that's coming out where the writers wanted to pitch their own story and cast of characters but the executives were like "uhhh we're looking for something to staple Scooby Doo onto, you should swap the OCs out" and then everyone online got mad at the new Scooby cartoon that doesn't have fucking Scooby in it
